Established in 1936 as Hailey National Park, Jim Corbett is India's oldest and most prestigious national park. Located in the Nainital district of Uttarakhand, it is famed for its rich biodiversity, the magnificent Bengal tigers, and scenic Ramganga riverbanks.

Established in 1936 as Hailey National Park, Jim Corbett National Park stands as India's oldest and most prestigious wildlife reserve. It was renamed in honor of Jim Corbett, a legendary British-Indian hunter-turned-conservationist who played a pivotal role in its creation and spent his life protecting Uttarakhand's wildlife.
Encompassing over 520 square kilometers of hills, riverine belts, marshy depressions, grasslands, and large lakes, the park was the very first to launch Project Tiger in 1973. It remains a sanctuary where the endangered Bengal Tiger, Asiatic Elephant, and over 600 species of birds roam free.
